Mindful movement

Mindful movement enables us to be fully alive and present by focussing on the here-and-now. Combining slow Tai Chi movements with body awareness and coordinated diaphragmatic breathing, mindful movement brings benefits of relaxation and stress reduction. Improved balance, gentle strengthening, flexibility and coordination are also achieved. Tai Chi & Balance classes are at the following locations:

Kippax Uniting Community Centre, Holt, Wednesdays 9.30-10.15am

Kangara Waters Retirement Village, Belconnen, Thursdays 9.00-9.45am

Self-care is about being good keepers of ourselves – body, mind and spirit. It is about the things we incorporate in our everyday that enable us to live with joy and vitality. In this program, you learn practical ways to replenish yourself and enhance your well-being and experience movement-based approaches to self-care through connecting body and mind in a safe and supportive environment.

Healthy Ageing

In this program, we examine attitudes and assumptions around ageing and explore our own values and concepts of well-being. Sessions include a mixture of learning, activities and discussion. Further topics will depend on the interests of participants.
